SAFETY TALKS

Be Safe Every Day

Led by former NYPD Captain Rita Mullaney & Krav Maga instructor and educator Dawn Nadeau, Safety Talks are a personalized, interactive session for your group about personal safety.

Personal safety is a topic most people think about every day, yet there is a surprising lack of programs to address the myriad of issues that encompass the subject as it relates to people of all ages.

Incorporating good personal safety habits into our lives is much like fitness or healthy eating, it’s easy to become lax, yet the benefits of creating and sustaining good habits will last a lifetime, and may just save your life or the life of someone you love.

In a typical Safety Talk, we unpack this loaded topic with a combination of specific tips, concepts and a new way to think about personal safety in a daily non-anxiety-inducing way. Safety Talks can be tailored to the age range and audience of specific groups from children as young as 8 to adult groups.

  • Safety Talks for School Age Children (4-6th grade) Virtual and In-Person

  • How to Talk to Your Kids about Personal Safety (Parent session) Virtual and In-Person

  • Everyday Safety Techniques for Adults (18+) In-Person

All sessions are 60-75 minute sessions including a video presentation, Q&A and hand- out. Safety Talks are best suited for children in grades 4-6 in groupings by age/grade or for parent-only and adult-only sessions. We regularly speak to corporate and community groups and adapt our session to suit the needs of the group. We can do either virtual or in-person sessions.

We charge a fee for Safety Talk sessions based on a sliding scale. Funds collected are used to support site hosting and operations of Everyday Safety. Please get in touch (email pop up) to find out more about planning a session for your group.

Now more than ever it is important for everyone to take their personal space and personal safety into their own hands.

Every child, person and family, from elementary, to middle school to high school and beyond has a unique set of issues and questions. At the heart of personal safety for communities are the conversations we have together and the habits we form.
